From the new location next to Taverne de Krieckaert in Gellik, near the beautiful forest of the Lieteberg (national park the high Kempen), various activities take place with the alpacas. The specially trained therapy alpacas Ren, Stimpy and Haakon like to go for a walk, meet new people and can even be used for therapy sessions (see menu options). The valley of the Kikbeekbron is a special part of nature in National Park Hoge Kempen. The area is rich in beautiful heathland vegetation and is the habitat of many bird species and grazing fjord ponies. Besides various cycling and walking routes that you can explore, it is also possible to go horseback riding and to cast a fishing line in one of the trout ponds.

The Lieteberg visitors' center is the gateway to the Hoge Kempen National Park in Zutendaal. Here you can explore the world of microcosms through unique and often instructive activities.

In 1958, the Open Air Museum Bokrijk opened its doors for the first time. This is the ideal place for nature lovers. In the 18-hectare forest you will find unique plants, shrubs and ferns. In addition, demonstrations take place in the open air museum and you can attend a workshop.

The very first barefoot path in Flanders! Take off your shoes and walk 3 km barefoot through water, sand, stones and loam. In this way you become one with nature and feel the special stimuli of the soil.

During the warmer summer days, it is quite pleasant to stay at Kelchterhoef De Plas. As the name might suggest, this recreation park has a swimming pond. That means plenty of swimming fun for the whole family! Whether you go underwater, relax in the sun or enjoy rooting your feet in the sand, both young and old will enjoy themselves here. The park is free to enter.

Zutendaal is located in the greenest part of Flanders. The best way to explore it is on foot. In Flanders' most wooded municipality, you can wander endlessly through woods and heathland, over hills and creek valleys and enjoy the silence and tranquillity.  

In National Park Hoge Kempen and its surroundings you can enjoy wonderful cycling. Moreover, many routes are completely car-free. An occasional climb is part of the deal, with a beautiful view as a reward!

Unique in the world is the award-winning 'Cycling through water' project. The cycle route starts near junction 91 in the Bokrijk domain, some 17 km from EuroParcs Hoge Kempen.

Recreatiebos Steinerbos is the play forest with lots of attractions and playgrounds to entertain you for hours. You'll make friends in no time and if all that playing gets you hot, just jump into the cool water of one of the outdoor pools.

Kattevennen is where your space journey begins. Go on an adventure in the cosmos and go stargazing with the astroranger. When you have returned to earth, you can enjoy hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding and mini golf in the surrounding area.

Be surprised by a special piece of nature in Flanders in Terhills. Rare butterfly species now live where the Eisden coal mine could be found. You can enjoy a surprising landscape with mountains, lakes and high peaks with spectacular panoramas.

Formerly a small stone mountain, today the Adventure Mountain. The stone waste from the be-MINE in Beringen has created a whole new network of footpaths, mountain bike tracks and adventurous climbing opportunities. During your route you will find information boards everywhere, telling you the stories about the mines and slag heaps in Limburg.

The entrance gate of Mechelse Heide is the perfect starting point for your walk through the heathland. During the heather blooming period (from mid-August to mid-September), this landscape is extra beautiful with all the wonderful shades of purple.

Enter the Pietersheim estate and travel back in time to the 12th century. Admire the Moated Castle, which has been restored to its former state thanks to years of restoration. After climbing the tower you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view over the park and the inner courtyard of the castle. The kids will also enjoy themselves at the petting zoo with playground.

C-mine is a special place in Genk where creativity is born. The atmosphere of this former coal mine is a combination of the industrial past with contemporary artistic activity. Learn all about the history of the mine and join the C-mine expedition deep underground. You can also climb Belgium's highest shaft tower here!

The Belgian city of Hasselt will surprise you with what it has to offer. In addition to an attractive center with historic buildings, nice shops, tasty eateries with cozy terraces and beautiful street art, the city also has a number of nice sights. In Hasselt you will find the largest Japanese Garden in Europe with a Japanese tea house, a ceremonial house, koi fish and beautiful bridges and waterfalls. Also visit Herkenrode Abbey, once the richest women's abbey in the Netherlands. Treat yourself to a Hasselt delicacy, such as speculaas and chocolates!

Visit the impressive Grand Commandery Alden Biesen, which was founded in 1220. It is therefore one of the oldest and largest castle domains in Northern Europe. From storytelling, music and education to beautiful walks through the orchards, there is still a lot to experience here today!

Sea creatures in southern Limburg? They can be seen at the Natural History Museum in Maastricht. Visitors take a journey through time and see, among other things, tropical swamps, fossils and the fox's den.

While walking through rolling hills, you will meet unique animal species, such as red pandas, wolverines, giraffes and gorillas. Also be sure to visit limburgHUIS, where you will come face-to-face with several endangered species of domestic animals.
