Throughout the year, numerous fun activities and festivals are organised for young and old. Here you will find an overview of events in the area (if they are taking place soon).
Cherry Blossom Festival - Hanami
From March 14 to April 19, 2026, Hasselt's Japanese Garden will be dominated by beautiful cherry blossoms. With no fewer than 225 cherry trees, this is one of the best times to visit the garden. The flowering depends on the weather, so every day can be different—all the more reason to come and visit!
On weekends, food and drink stalls create a cozy atmosphere and you can enjoy a picnic among the blossoms. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic.
Come and experience the special atmosphere of Hanami and admire the symbolic Sakura, which reflects the beauty and transience of life. 🌸
✨ Tip: Would you prefer a quieter experience? Plan your visit during the week.
