Carnival in Lanaken is a cheerful and colourful celebration that takes place every year, just before Lent begins. During the weekend, floats and parade floats parade through the streets of Lanaken-centre, Rekem and Smeermaas during large parades full of music, costumes and revelry. The carnival ends with a party in the marquee (Lanaken) or in the Schrimbar (Rekem).

The centre of Genk bursts with atmosphere when the carnival parade passes by on 14 February. From 2:11 p.m., you can enjoy a colourful parade with floats, exuberant costumes and cheerful music.

Want even more atmosphere after the parade? Then you are welcome in the Dolle Tent on the Stadsplein during and after the parade. There, cheerful music creates an exuberant atmosphere and you can enjoy a drink. If you're not done partying yet, you can visit one of the many carnival cafés in the centre to end the day in style.

A great atmosphere and fun are guaranteed as spring gets underway. Come and discover the latest fashions at our centre during “Fashion & Bubbles”. The latest collections will be shown on the catwalk on the Market Square, while you can enjoy the convivial atmosphere with dozens of models and a DJ. The fashion shows will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. You can enjoy twice as much because we will treat everyone to delicious free bubbles with every purchase!

The Beer Experience is a “beer festival plus” that, now in its fifth edition, goes beyond just beer tasting. With almost 40 brewers present and more than 200 beers to taste, you will of course be spoilt for choice, but there are also great live performances and DJs, food pairings, lectures, art about beer, comedy, food trucks, ... and even a bike ride! Set all this against the beautiful backdrop of the old mining buildings in Zolder and you'll understand why The Beer Experience has been voted Belgium's Best Beer Event at the Beer Awards in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
